Poundland

Never thought Poundland staff will judge ppl’s wearing . I am trying to show her my bank account because it said ‘higher education’ which means I am old enough to buy glue sticks. But the staff just grab my thing and said it can’t sell to you. Also she stare at me with discriminate eyes. This is totally RUDE! I live in here long time and always buy art crafts things in here , never had treate like this . 3/11/2023 Friday.

Upset with the branch manager. She couldn't admit that her approach was outright wrong. My 10 year thought she was rude too! I looked at her as soon as my 4 year old knocked the vase and it broke, she looked right at the mess but carried on sorting the rack she was working on. She didn't make any eye contact with me so I didn't call for her attention but I saw her look when the vase smashed. Whilst I was trying to get my kids under control - anyone with kids would know sometimes they kick off and having all 3 going at once can feel wild. (Honestly I also saw a top for the kids and thought let me just grab that quickly before I leave and tell someone) Anyways, 30 seconds later, she approaches me talking very loud and said "Why you just leaving this and not telling anyone to clean it" I actually saw her look when it dropped - so she saw it happen but she ignored it... Yet she shouted at me like a child? She obviously has no children of her own otherwise she'd know sometimes they get out of control and parents really do the best they can. The pressure can get to you no matter how many years you've been a parent - the grandparents will tell you the same! She continued to be argumentative with me when i told her that her whole approach towards me was wrong! I visit this poundland often, I normally never have the kids because shopping without kids is way easier but sometimes things are really out of your control. I would love to complain to the manager about how she was towards me but she is the manager :( I used to work in retail 12 years ago, never would I speak to a customer like this, even if I saw a child purposly spill lucozade over the floor. It's kids. Parents have a handful with them. She got away with it because she's a manager but I'm sure she'd hate to see her staff speak to someone in a vile way.

A good place to get all those little items that you need. Not everything is a pound though, there were many items I saw at one pound and fifty pence. Maybe they should change the shop name. But apart from that, it's still convenient to get a lot of things that you need. It was clean and tidy and the shelves were organised well. I will be visiting again soon.

Very poor customer service, the staff who work here are extremely rude! I came here for wrapping paper some time a go for my sons birthday and at the check out was accused of stealing by two woman an older woman and a younger woman after searching my bags and seeing I hadn’t stole anything I wasn’t even given an apology just a dirty look as they both walked off! Come here a few months after with my son and the same younger lady from before kept giving us both the most extreme dirty and horrible looks to the point where my son was actually saying why does the lady keep looking at us like that mummy ? unbelievably rude unprofessional and just disrespectful to be honest! I got in touch with customer services and they finally got back to me weeks later saying how they have spoke to the staff however staff have no recollection of either incidents! Absolutely disgusting customer service and to behave like that in front of a child making them feel uncomfortable is even worse!
